Tag United stormed their way to the top of the Premier Division with a 9-1 hammering of Styles, who seem to be finding life in the top flight difficult. Matthews bagged 4 for Tag. Old Southendian also have two wins out of two, a Bolton goal was all that separated them from Castle Rangers. Concord Rangers have announced themselves in the Premier League. They held Chapel United to a 0-0 draw at the Post Office in a really competitive encounter, both sides look capable of challenging for honours this season. Gt Wakering started their season with a 3-0 win at Chalkwell United, Chalkwell manager McNally is “optimistic” this week. Brit Academicals are another side who may be in the mix come the spring won 4-2 at Pegasus, Cox and Sexton sharing the goals.

 Brit II top Division One and already look the side to beat. They won 5-1 at Gt Wakering II. Southend Collegians also have six points after two games, they won 3-1 against Stambridge United. Hullbridge Sports started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Southend Supporters. Ford beat Catholic 3-2.

 Earls Hall lead Division Two, they beat the fancied Basildon United 2-0, Blackman and Gore scoring. Foulness recovered from their poor start last week to win 4-0 at Milton. William de Ferrers beat Wheatleys 2-1. Corringham and Ekco shared the points in a 3-3 draw, no idea who scored for Corringham, it seems who ever phoned was calling from the dark side of the moon!

 Inn on the Green and Sutton Sports share top spot in Division 3. Sutton had a healthy 6-0 win a Zeus whilst Inn on the Green won 3-0 against Eversley Sports, Bastable scoring all three. Bratley of Simco went one better, banging in all four as Simco beat Rayleigh Olympiads 4-2. Nicholas Colts won 3-1 at Chalkwell United.

 Catholic lead Division Four, but were made to work for their 2-1 win over Chalkwell III. Corinthians also have six points, they won 3-1 at Gt Wakering III. Burns used the excuse of having to phone the result in avoid a round. Brit III won their first game of the season 7-1 against Laindon. Emmons hitting four. Moyet scored for Laindon, and that is possibly his first goal ever. The Hewitt brothers shared hat-tricks as Corinthians beat Lions 8-2 and that result gives them a share of top spot.
