Sunday 6th December
Another
wet and dreary Sunday morning brought yet more chaos, cancelled pitches and
frustrated players. Once again all of the ECFA Cup games were washed out,
meaning the six sides involved will have to have yet another go next week. All
games in Divisions One, Two and Three also fell to the elements.
However,
some games did survive. Chapel United go to the top of the table after winning
5-1 at Pegasus. Chalkwell United and Castle Rangers shared a point a piece, but
no goals.
In
the Charity Cup, Chalkwell III put up a brave fight against Eversley Sports and
it took an extra time goal by Plant to give Eversley a 2-1 win. Earls Hall found
things a bit easier, beating Corinthians 6-2.
Remarkably
all games in Division Four were played. Layzell banged in four as Catholic II
saw off Fairfax Sports 6-0. Laindon Athletic won 2-1 at Great Wakering III and
OSFC II beat Lions 6-1, Heselgrove getting a treble.
