REPARC 4TH OCTOBER
A glorious early autumn Sunday morning saw over one hundred
goals in just 21 games. Old Southendian maintained their 100% start, goals
from Hampshire and Mackler enough to beat Pegasus 2-0. Although having
played a game less, Great Wakering also have a 100% start. Their 3-1 win
left their defeated opponents and without a point. In the day’s big game
Tag United and Chapel United battled out a 2-2 draw. Concord Rangers won
the Canvey derby 3-2 at Castle Rangers to keep up their good start. Brit
Academicals and Chalkwell drew 2-2, Brit coming back from 2 goals down.
Southend Collegians won their third game of the season,
6-1 at Southend Supporters Club and top the table. Hockley British Legion
won an eight goal thriller 5-3 against Great Wakering II. Catholic United
won their first game of the season, 3-1 at Hullbridge. Stambridge and Ford
Basildon drew 3-3.
Earls Hall came from a goal down to win 2-1 at Foulness
and top the table with three wins from three. Eversley Park have won two
from two, they beat Ford Basildon 2-1. Corringham’s first win of the
season was worth waiting for. A Major hat-trick helped them on their way
to a 5-0 win over William de Ferrers. Wheatleys and Milton shared the
points in a 3-3 draw.
Sutton Sports lead Division 3, with three from three, they
beat Chalkwell United II 3-0. Inn on the Green remain second, they
didn’t play because the pitches at Rayleigh Olympiads still haven’t
been made playable. Eversley Sports beat Zeus 2-1, Zeus remain with a
point. Two Blackersby goals gave Simco a 2-0 win at Nicholas Colts.
Corinthians remain at the top of Division 4, but lost
their perfect start. They were held 3-3 by Old Southendian III. Much
fancied Brit Academicals III were held 1-1 by Chalkwell United II.
Buttresses goal best described as “flying salmon like”. Fairfax Sports
beat Great Wakering III 4-1. Laindon Athletic re-wrote the record books
beating Lions 16-0. The previous largest winning margin was 15 (a game
also involving Lions). To be fair to Lions they played with just nine men
of which only six were fully fit. Credit to them for turning up.
Bizarrely, today saw the semi final of the Junior
Executive Cup held over from last year. Ekco will progress to the final v
Catholic United after winning a penalty shoot out 6-5 against Brit
Academicals II after a 1-1 draw.
