Even that this early stage of the season, Chalkwell United have probably gained Result of the Season. Normally sides being promoted to the top flight struggle to comes to terms with the bigger sides, but on Sunday, they put that myth to rest by beating the mighty Tag United 3-2. Two goals from Kasaparian and an own goal sealed a famous win. Concord Rangers also continue to dispel the promotion myth. They sit proudly on top of the league after Greenway’s five goal set up a 6-1 win against Brit. Great Wakering still have a perfect record after beating Pegasus 6-0. Castle Rangers got their first win of the campaign, 4-0 at Styles.

Brit II knocked Southend Collegians off the top of Division One by beating them 5-1. Aside from Brit II, Division One looks like it is going to be extremely tight, with nothing much seperately anyone. Gt Wakering Rovers II beat a fancied Hullbridge Sports in a cracker of a game, 4-3. Hockley British Legion won 2-1 at Fords, whilst Catholic and Southend Supporters shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Stambridge United progressed in the Charity Cup, beating Division Two side Foulness 4-2. A note worthy point, Stambridge scored all 6 goals!!

Earls Hall hold onto top spot in Division Two, despite drawing 2-2 with Wheatleys. The game was marred by a serious injury to Wheatley’s Hart, and we all send him our best wishes for a speedy recovering. Eversley Park stay second. They maintained their 100% start after walloping William de Ferrers 7-1. Ekco Thames Park won 1-0 at Basildon United and Milton Athletic won 1-0 at home to AFC Corringham.

Corinthians stay on top of Division Four as they won 3-1 at Catholic. Chalkwell United III grabbed their first win of the season winning 1-0 at Great Wakering III. Old Southendian had a healthy 4-0 win over Laindon. Spare a though for the Lions, last week they lost 16-0, this week it was 14-0. Brit Academicals III being the goal happy side this week.
