Stambridge United seal Division Two Title

The Charity Cup took centre stage this week as all four quarter finals looked very tight. Chapel United had Groom to thank for his couple in their 3-1 win over Brit Academicals. Salmon netted twice also for Ford Basildon as they went through to the semi final with a 4-2 win over Pegasus from the prem.

Southend Collegians put up a good fight against the inform team Old Southendian, but eventually went down 2-1. In the last game of the round big guns Tag United and Great Wakering Rovers had a mega game as Wakering squandered a two goal lead to eventually lose out 3-2 to the Basildon side.

In the League Concord Rangers beat Styles 3-2 as Rowney netted a hat trick for Concord and Higgins a brace for Styles. Nicholas Colts had a 2-1 win over Hockley and Hawkwell in the only two games played in Division One.

Stambridge United have had to wait a while but they finally won the Division after a 1-1 draw with Milton Athletic. Great Wakering Rovers seconds were the only side that could have caught them but it did them no favour only gaining a draw against William De Ferrers.

Foulness went back to the top of Division Three after a 2-0 win against Inn on the Green. Leigh Ramblers moved to joint third after a 1-0 win over the improving Ambleside.

In Division Four, Wheatleys are Champions but there are a few teams who can still gain promotion. Broker Freehouse stepped up the pressure on the teams above them with a 1-0 against Old Southendian seconds. In the other game Davies netted twice for Nicholas Colts and Butteriss did the same for Chalkwell United seconds but Nicholas Colts took the points when the game finished 5-4.

In the Senior Executive Cup Muller netted twice for Chalkwell United as they won 3-1 at AFC Corringham in group 'A'. In group 'C' Hullbridge United had Weeks to thank for his brace as they won 2-1 at Castle Rangers.

The Junior Cup group 'A' saw Eversley Sports continue their good cup run with a 4-3 win over Fairfax Sports. Townsend netted twice for Eversley.

In Group 'C' Lomas netted a hat trick but was not enough for Catholic United as Knowles did the same for Hockley British Legion but the difference was Valsaycer notched a brace for Hockley as they ended up 5-3 victors.

Group 'D' saw Lions beat Corinthians 3-0 with Seymour scoring twice for Lions.

In Group 'F' Sutton Sports from Division Four claimed a good scalp with a convincing 4-1 win over Division Three's Ekco Social and Sports. Brown netted twice for Sutton.
