LEN FORGE MBE  BIDS FAREWELL .....

People from the local world of football gathered to say a fond farewell to Len Forge MBE and his wife Freda as they prepared for their move to take up residence in France.

It was a football's who who in local terms as players past and present as well as officers of other league's as well as the ECFA all turned out at Len's - Eastwoodbury Lane Centre. This was a fitting place for Len to say his goodbye's to so many friends. This was and is the place that Len worked so hard for so that the local players would have a headquarters to use a place where the Borough Comb. the Veterans League, Sunday League, Sceptre League etc. etc. could all play and enjoy the facilities. Len was a part of all these aforementioned Leagues and his efforts for the grassroots game is clear for all to see every time they visit the lane. It is as Len said - "the grassroots home of the area"

League Secretary - Tony Hoskins presents a cheque to Len on behalf of the league. A similar gift was presented by the Borough Comb. chairman Gary White. Len will be purchasing a laptop pc in France. This means that even the typewriter has retired!!

Its all be well documented what Len did for this league and it was a privilege to be a part of the ensemble there on the evening to wish him all the best for the future.
