22ND JULY                LAW AMENDMENTS 2008/9

Law 1 - The Field of Play
In order to standardize the size of the football pitch for A international matches, the IFAB has decided to set a fixed size of 105m long and 68m wide (instead of a minimum and maximum length - from 100m to 110m - and a minimum and a maximum width - from 64m to 75m - as mentioned in the present text).

Law 2 - The Ball
Within the FIFA Quality Concept for footballs, the IFAB has agreed that the new 'FIFA APPROVED', 'FIFA INSPECTED' and 'International Matchball Standard' logos, which were launched in May 2007, will replace the former logos displayed in the present text.

On behalf of everyone connected with the SBCVL we send our most heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of JAMIE HIGGINS. Jamie was the manager and secretary of Styles F.C.

He sadly passed away on 11th July and the news has stunned everyone who new Jamie.

He was a football person through and through and in the short time of being involved in this League had proved to be a good administrator on behalf of his club.

After reading some of the comments on the Forum, it's clear that he was a very popular person and one who will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this very sad time.

Jamie may you rest in peace

God Bless.

28th MAY

It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to inform you all that our League founder & Life -Vice President   Len Forge MBE has sadly passed away.

Len is someone I admired as a football administrator, and I have gone on record many times down the years as saying that in my humble opinion that both Len and Jimmy Sewell (Southend Sunday League) were the best two football administrators I have ever know, and I was fortunate enough to serve with them both on various committee's.

The family have asked that no contact be made for the time being.

The funeral has taken place.
