28th JULY

Mr 'Great Wakering Rovers' - Nobby Johnson passed away yesterday.

I'm sure you will all have your own individual memories of this jovial character. My first memories of him was when he was a goalkeeper with Priory Athletic back in the 60's.

Our thoughts at this moment are with the family and friends.

12th JULY

Well its time to pack away the vuvuzelas and start to think about the new season in the SBCVL.

Secretaries.... Please send me your ECFA Affiliation numbers by this Wednesday at the very latest. Fines WILL be issued on Thursday morning!

We have sadly lost a club before we even began - Tilbury Veterans have withdrawn their application, thus leaving 8 teams in Division 3. If any of the Division 2 clubs wish to play in this division next season it would make it 9 in each division. If not Les Fordham is looking at clubs playing each other more than twice to make it fair to them and of course to earn them revenue. Please contact Les or Tony H if you want to discuss this further.

The new handbook is virtually complete and ready for proofing and then off to the printers. If you have any last minute changes to your clubs details now is the time to email them to Tony H.

The dates for the registration evenings will be published over the next two weeks and an email will be sent to all club secretaries. The new handbooks will also be ready for collection on these evenings. Clubs failing to collect them WILL have to pay the postage if we need to send them as this is very expensive to do.

Kerry Fairless has come up trumps again with a very impressive 'referees list', these will be available in the new handbook.

I'm sure you will recall our League Treasurers comments at the AGM. He will be posting out the club pre-season accounts next month and they will also include any fines carried over from last season. The fees are due by 1st September. The LMC will not be permitting ANY club to play a fixture if they still owe these fees within 7 days of the new season. If you have any probs paying them on time YOU MUST phone Ken.

The maps page will be updated as soon as the 14th July date has passed.

FIXTURES

Please let Les Fordham know your pitch dates ASAP! Please contact your pitch landlord to find out a date, this is most important as I'm sure you would all rather see a list of fixtures on the site rather than poor old Les having to do them and email them to clubs. If he hasn't got your dates we can't publish a full set of fixtures.
