OUR THANKS TO
LEISURE LINK INTERNATIONAL
TC 'TEES OFF' AT THE 1ST!

This event came about from a chat between Gary Nelson, Doug Fisher and Tony H a few months ago.  As a result of this meeting Gary and Tony went to meet Anita Plowman (Little Havens) to suggest that as a part of the SBCVL linking their Charity Competition to Little Havens, that we should hold a Golf Day for the members of the League and their guests.

This proved to be a massive success and the feedback from those who took part was all very positive, in face they all want to know when next year's one takes place!

The former West Ham and England striker Tony Cottee was invited to take part and played in what was to be the winning team on the day. He was accompanied by former Ford Basildon pair Lee & Mark Williams along with Paul Michaelson.

As you can tell from the pictures the day was blessed with a bright sunny day which made it all the more enjoyable for everyone.

THE GALLERY PART 1

The tournament was organised by Gary and Doug, who were ably assisted by Gary lovely lady - Tracey. The longest drive was at Hole 6 which saw some fantastic drive being hit. Chris Avis couldn't have driven that far in his car!!

Paul Bastin (Castle Rangers) would have won nearest the pin had it not been for the fact his tee shot from the 17th landed on an adjacent green, but it was close to the pin.!!! Sorry Paul .. but it was funny !!

SPOT THE BADGER?

Even on the hallowed greens they still have a Badger problem?

GALLERY TWO WILL APPEAR SHORTLY ..... We have many more team pics to come

As soon as the players had completed their rounds they entered the clubhouse to watch the Russian v England Euro 2008 qualifier, and wished they hadn't ..!!  It did make for a lively debate later on in the evening...!!

The evening meal provided the opportunity for the players to relax over a few drinks and enjoy an excellent dinner from the carvery.

The raffle was drawn and there were some fabulous prizes donated and special thanks to Lee Williams for all his contributions.

THE WINNERS OF THE  SBCVL GOLF CHALLENGE SHIELD

As I said in my short speech - " Everyone should feel very proud to have taken part in this fantastic day. We have all enjoyed a day of golf and a wonderful evening meal but the real winners were Little Havens and we are delighted that on this day we raised a huge £1000 to donate to them"

Here's to next year!
