2005 CHARITY DONATION EVENING

Members of the LMC turned out in force for the charity donation evening at Eastwoodbury Lane on Wednesday 28th Sept. New League president - Sir Teddy Taylor was also on hand to make the presentations.

Staff from Basildon & Southend Hospital A&E are presented with a cheque for £500 each. Chairman Les Fordham (centre) echoed the sentiments that League Secretary Tony Hoskins had said. Tony paid tribute to the A&E staff and recognised the difficult and stressful job that they do. He said ' I'm sure I speak not only for our League but for all leagues when I say a very simple thank you for all you do'

Sir Teddy expressed his thanks on behalf of all the members clubs and thanked them for their support.

 

The evening also saw current LMC member Keith Dawson receive his League Honours Badge for 5 years continuous service to the league. Keith is also the Division One Representative.

Another member of the league to be honoured on the night was former league chairman Geoff Benson. Geoff received the leagues highest award the Award of Merit.

The evening was a great success and gave everyone the opportunity to chat about the work of the hospitals and in particular the A&E depts.

As usual Barbara Dawson had prepared a 1st class post event buffet for everyone to enjoy.
