CHARITY PRESENTATION EVENING 2007

CHARITY PRESENTATIONS MADE TO LITTLE HAVENS &  ROSPA

The SBCVL made a massive £2500 donation to the Little Havens Children's Hospice. This wonderful organisation was the chosen charity for the next two years at the AGM earlier in the year. Our League President Sir Teddy Taylor was at this event to make the presentation of the cheque to Little Havens' representative Hilary Metcalfe.

Also on the night a cheque for £250 was presented to Colin & Carmen Staines in memory to their son James who died in a road accident last year. All funds collected on behalf of James go directly to ROSPA.

"This League should be very proud of what they are doing in respect of charity work, I know that the people involved put in a hug amount of work to make it all possible for everyone to enjoy their football", said Sir Teddy Taylor in his speech.

The donation to Little Havens included the funds raised at the recent golf day organised by Gary Nelson.

We hope to have at least four people running the London Marathon on behalf of the League raising funds for Little Havens.

There was also a presentation made to Ronnie Hanley for his achievements as a manager of Ford Basildon where he guided them to 17 major honours in a six year period.

Let's hope the next time around we have even more to donate.
