Last evening the League made their donations
to three local charities. The recipients being

  Little Havens.  Representatives from all
three organisations attended and were joined
by members of the LMC and League patron
Sir Teddy Taylor M.P. seen here with the
  Charity reps and the cheques.

The evening began with League Secretary
Tony Hoskins making a short speech to those
present in, which he spoke of the history of the
Charity Competition. In his closing statement he
said that what the LMC do is to the benefit of the
players within the League, however, in reference to the representatives he said that what they do is to the benefit of peoples lives and to make a difference. He closed by saying that he hoped the donation the League has made will go towards making that difference.

Sir Teddy Taylor responded by saying that he has been involved with all three charities over the years and he is delighted that the League he is now a part of has made such a wonderful contribution to them. He added that he felt it was a wonderful thing that the League ran such a competition where the players and teams enjoy the challenges whilst at the same time raising important funds for charity.

In response, Mike Smith or the Southend-on-Sea Blind Welfare Organisation thanked Sir Teddy and the League for making them all very welcome to the evening, which was a huge success. He said that the donation received would greatly assist with the organisations work and looked forward to the League's continued growth and success.

Each organisation received a cheque for the sum of £500.
