Three days after clinching promotion to Division One, Gt Wakering Rovers looked to add the Division Two League Cup to their trophy cabinet. They came up against a hard working and determined Supporters Club side who had lost both of their final appearances.

It was clear from the start that the Supporters Club were very determined to make this their night and they enjoyed much of the first half and took a 17th minute lead through Carl Robinson who's well placed shot gave Rovers keeper - Paul Rosser no chance. In fact if it hadn't been for the Wakering keeper making some excellent saves, the Supporters Club would have gone in at half time in a more commanding lead.

The Rovers came out all guns blazing and for the opening 20 minutes of the second half they gave it a real go but it was not to be their night and the Supporters Club regained some of their first half grip on the game and looked to add to the one goal lead they had.

A corner in the 84th minute proved to be decisive as the ball went in off the Rovers keeper and that was that - game over.

Chris Avis made the post match presentations to the players. Chairman Les Fordham chose Supporters Club Paul West for the Man-of-the-Match Award.

All in all a very competitive game played in true vets spirit and both sides were a credit to the League.
